I was drivin thie auld wagon down that ther m1 motorway ther 2day, headin towards casement lukin about somewhere to grave the sheep, n i noticed the sign for the slip road down onto the roundabout there.

I c they have the kings hall on that auld sign. Now im not wan for bein petty in political matters or anything, so dont take this as a greivence or nothin. But i was think wud it be an idea to ask the road service to add casement park onto that sign for til help them outsiders from down and even them from as far away as tyrone to get to the ground.

I know ur gona say, " hi biy, sure ya can c the flood lights from the road" But sure that doesnt exactly tell ya if u shud take this slip road or that slip road.

A shining light in the sky mite have dun them 3 wise men, but thers nun of them men from tyrone thats all that wise now!

Have to agree with Admin about the disabled facilities. Work is ongoing. Would people prefer if we closed the ground altogether? As for the Andytown News, they specialise in reporting on the persecuted, "poor me" section of society. Some people go out of their way to be slighted.

1.30pm Unveiling of Mural celebrating 125th Anniversary of the GAA. Mural designed and created by world-renowned mural artist Danny Devenney.
......where is it going to be? on one of the walls in casement? who painted the players at the back of the stand by the way? is the new control tower, similar to that in healy park omagh? looked kind of similar last time i seen it? thanks

Can't help you with most of this.. The Control Room is definitely not going to be the same as Healy Park.

SIGNAGE! Is it possible to erect signage at Casement Park that informs people walking or driving past the ground, of forthcoming fixtures. I realise that not every fixture can be signed but at least all major club and county matches could be displayed eg Antrim v Kilkenny on Sunday last? - who knows, it could swell the crowd!

This has been considered but has met with a few problems such as planning permission and potential local objections. Now, that may seem daft but it is the reality.

surprised to see problems with wheel chair facitilies at casement despite the 'call to arms' by county board for ALL fans to come out and support the county team. Hopefully this will not put this saffron fan off from coming back. disagree with sean however on gutter journalism, the media have a responsibility to report things, good and bad. i feel the andersonstown news do a fantastic job reporting local and national GAA, long may it continue and keep up the good work. Good luck Antrim on Sunday!

Why are you surprised? This particular supporter was taken to the wheelchair facility but for reasons known only to him, he then chose to leave. Access for everyone, including disabled peole is restricted, but that shouldn't stop people coming, or being asked to come. Sometimes a little patience is required - on everybody's part.

Try your club secretary (he/she has a draft), but until these are finalised, they won't be posted on here.

to be perfectly correct.it is not nonsense.it happened.i maybe hit a soft spot there..it was maybe you that organised it.wat I wonder is that if I was a tyrone or derry u21.would this happen?NO

No, it certainly wasn't us who organised it. And yes, these things have happened in other counties. However, they are more likely to happen when a county doesn't have a dedicated training facility, but this is being addressed. Clearly you have nothing useful to contribute and that probably applies on the football field as well, with the attitude that you are demonstrating. This county has enough whingers, without putting them into a county jersey. Maybe you should just give up on this and stick to your own narrow-minded we corner - wherever that is. We have far greater ambition and far better things to do, than whinge anonymously on websites.

Last week over 100 coaches attended a very successful "Learning to Train" course delivered by Richard Ferris. The next course is next Monday night 2nd February in Cross and Passion College Sportshall starting at 7.30pm. It is an observation session which is delivered by one of Ulster's top coaches - Tommy Stevenson.

This workshop is a follow up to last years successful Strength & Conditioning course. It will show the importance of strength & conditioning for Hurling, Camogie & Gaelic football. The aim is to provide coaches, parents & players with an introduction into the role and methods of S&C within sport. It has been illustrated scientifically that S&C has potential performance benefits on the field. Topics will include core stability, weight training, power exercises, medicine ball, swiss ball and functional movement. This course is delivered by Tommy Stevenson who has been working with the Armagh squad for the past 3 years and is the current Strength & Conditioning coach with the Antrim Senior hurlers.

Again, please encourage as many coaches, parents and players to attend. It is free of charge.

I hope to see many of you there next Monday night

i would like to make a point to whoever organised antrim u21 county trainen lastnite....it was a disgrace having 30 fellas driving up to woodlands to find that training being cancelled because it wasnt organised properly...disgraceful if you ask me.typical antrim.

This is complete nonsense and was something that while unfortuante, could not be helped. What is pathetic though, is getting this apparently from someone who wants to play football for this county. With your attitude, this county will manage much better without you.

Disabled Access.

Hi Admin, in light of the article regarding disabled access in the very 'slanted toerag - Andersonstown News'. Is there now a greater need publicise and advise those disabled persons wishing to attend games at Casement, of the present and ongoing works taking place in the grounds. Lets not provide the gutter press with an excuse!

We have done so on this site and clubs have been e-mailed regarding this. The limited access is not expected to go on much longer, but there will be undoubtedly be more complaints like this, no matter what is done. It would be possible of course, to move the match out of Casment to an alternative venue but you could imagine the complaints that this would generate.
