Why have we made a boring club championship even more boring with seeding clubs?
Grab All Association at it's very best!

Your opinion but the wish of the majority of clubs in Antrim to try a change.

Are there any videos of the recent McKenna cup game at Creggan v Ard Mhaca?

Games were recorded by the Antrim management team plus Armagh TV. Most counties only record games for team/play analysis.

It will be an interesting tussle between carryduff bredagh and St Brigids. Who has the biggest spending power and influence in county committee etc.

Only St Brigids will be at Antrim County Committee.

Can't confirmation of the composition of the 2015 league structures be out on this site once known ? Thanks

Once it is finalised it can be made public. A list of each team entered into the different leagues plus the teams entered into the different championships. Will be posted over the weekend before the championship draws are made on Monday.

Is it correct that both Bredagh and Carryduff both Belfast teams but operating under the Down GAA structure are making good progress at juvenile hurling and camogie?
Is this development mirrored by other clubs on the Antrim side?
In other words which clubs on the Antrim side would be comparable to those two 'Down' city clubs in terms of development over a similar period?

It is not for me to comment on the development of clubs from another county but it is good to see that both clubs have applied to play in the Antrim adult leagues this year. There is no doubt that clubs in Antrim based in Belfast have made significant progress in the development of hurling not only in the past but in recent times.

Do any changes to the league structures have to go through convention , or can the CCC change the make up of the leagues based on teams entered ?

If changes need to be made to League structures CCC would present the information to County Committee and it would make the final decision.

Would just like to thank the county and St Paul's for how well organised and run yesterday's walsh cup was. Good support shown by the fans also on a cold, windy January day.

Good Start for Ryaner and the Panel. DIT put it up to us but eventually we broke away following a mass of points during the mid 2nd half. DIT have some quality Hurlers so it was a excellent outing for us.

The playing surface at St Paul's was excellent and very well supervised by stewards etc. Well done.

A positive start

On the eve of the start of the hurling season for 2015 would be great to see clubs encouraging all of their coaches to engage in coaching development courses - at the appropriate level . Everyone can build on from where they are. It is a challenging job to coach hurling well at any level.
Coaches expect players to train but some coaches don't lead by example in training to be better coaches.
Or maybe they feel that they know it all etc etc
But would be great to have all clubs tuned in to improving the standard of our coaches and this would feed into better players

CPD is very important in any field. Coaches of any game as you say should always want to learn. No one knows it all.

Hearing talk that there will be 3 football divisions this year instead of 4. Can you confirm the number of teams in each division ? Thanks

CCC met on Thursday but no final decision on make up of Div 3/4 football could be made as closing date for club entries is Monday 12th January.

in recent years alot of counties (inc down & armagh) have screened their championship draws live online. Is this something that antrim can do this year?

I think this is a fantastic idea to increase public interest in antrim gaa & also to add transparancy to the process.

It is unlikely that the Draw will be streamed live. Recently the draws have been put on Twitter as they happen. As regards transperancy there are more than enough eagle eyes present from all clubs to ensure that everything is done with honesty.

I predated this area of guestbooks but social media is here for now and people exchange views, opinions without social or personal contact. Not sure if it improves respect between those inclined to post often but there appears to be posters who it is perceived 'represent' a club position. And this is not the case but the perception is that .
What I think is missing in the Antrim GAA scene is decent social contact - not just when people come together as a community at say certain funerals. We need more honest, decent contact - not this camp culture of highlighting difference ; demeaning the other etc which drags all of us down into a pit of antagonism, disrespect etc?
There is another side to this coin - and one maybe that we should try to foster for the benefit of everyone?
Is it too much to move beyond possibly the parochial short sightedness of 'ourselves and myself'?

If a person is given a suspension from the GAA can that same person hold a position on his club executive commitee? Thanks for any advice in advance.

Depends on the type of suspension. Some suspensions are for playing only while others mean a suspension across all areas including holding Office within the Club.

Fair play to the County who keep this website updated and give responses when appropriate to postings!
But some of the Divisional Board sites seem to be dormant - and this reflects poorly on those bodies.
It is like having a calendar, diary that is out of date or used only occasionally.
Not sure if those with Divisional Board responsibility read this websitebut if they do - maybe they will respond?

The Divisional Board sites are very active during the playing season and are a very useful tool. No doubt those who manage the accounts will take your comments under consideration.
