I would like to reply to Saffrons post on the 12 January to clarify that neither Bredagh or Carryduff are in Belfast. Bredagh are most definitely a County Down club, based in the Borough of Castlereagh. I wouldn't like to be paying a taxi from Belfast to Carryduff either for that matter!!

Now that I have cleared that up back to the point. They are both very affluent clubs with considerable resources who are doing pretty well developing hurling in Co. Down

Can I reiterate Michaels request that reserve and senior games be split in the early stages of the season. I play reserve football but take it as seriously as any senior player. On two or three occasions last year refs played 15 or 20 minutes each half in the reserve game as light was fading and there was still a senior game to be played. Who wants to rush home from work then drive 25 miles to play 15 minutes each way. As Michael says hopefully common sense prevails.

How, many hurling clubs in North Antrim have won the minor hurling championship over the past 25 years.
I don't know if it is a few - but if it is ; is this a desirable thing ?

From the records we have... Year 1990 Mc Quillans, B, castle 1991 OD Rossa 1992 Lamh Dhearg 1993 Ruairi Og, Cushendall 1994 Shamrocks, Loughgiel 1995 OD Rossa 1996 OD Rossa 1997 Ruairi Og, Cushendall 1998 ??? 1999 ??? 2000 ??? 2001 ??? 2002 ??? 2003 ??? 2004 St Johns 2005 Ruairi Og, Cushendall 2006 Ruairi Og, Cushendall 2007 Shamrocks, Loughgiel 2008 Shamrocks, Loughgiel 2009 OD Rossa 2010 Ruairi Og, Cushendall 2011 St Johns 2012 St Johns 2013 Ruairi Og, Cushendall 2014 OD Rossa i dont have the winners from 1998 to 2003

I see below that the football league are to start in early April. Can I suggest not having back to back reserve and senior league matches on Wed evenings in April? There simply isn't enough light to have 2 matches on an evening. Last season we had the situation where the last 10/15mins of a league match was played in near darkness where you could barely make out the far end of the pitch. This was the 3rd match into the season. Could I suggest perhaps just for April that the reserve and senior matches are split. One match played on a Wed evening with the other on the Sunday which allows both matches to be played in plenty of light. Hopefully common sense prevails.

Your suggestions will be taken under consideration by CCC

After training 112 times last season, played 3 rubbish friendlys, 17 league games 12 of which were competitive and getting only I e championship match and having to give up hurling to achieve this with football. I really need to question my financial and commitment to the GAA. When the powers that be finally realise that clubs travelling with 2 teams on a midweek fixture is a waste of time , money and affects players health then the better for us all. I'm actually dreading next season trying to get out of work to get up the country to play matches at 6pm after a days graft.

Seriously, give us our money's worth. Bigger leagues , no home and away just one match and alternate each year, 3 team group championship. Gives teams at least 18 games which will all be Much more competitive and won't strangle hurling.

Sad to see the county giving in to the "big clubs" of the hurling world and their demands of a seeded championship. 30 players from St.Galls managed to have their dreams come true last year and walked out to represent their club in a senior hurling final. It's so sad to see that the novelty of the big draw has been taken away and the county are now worrying about gate money! Pity the powers that be can't change more worrying problems such as our youth development squads and the funding, or lack of funding, that they are receiving from the county!!

Clubs voted for seeding.

What is the start dates for the football leagues?

The dates are at a draft stage still with CCC but it is anticipated that the leagues will begin on Easter Wednesday. This is not a definite starting date as yet but it will give clubs a date to work towards in their planning.

Re: Junior

Can understand the reasons why the admin has blocked the comments regarding a team entering the junior championship. However there is a debate to be had over teams dropping down championships to win silverware and go on an all-ireland run, taking away from the clubs and players who are at the correct level. Hard to see the County doing anything about this as it suits them to see teams doing well in the provincial competitions. Is it possible to challenge this process without naming specific clubs / name calling?

Yes. You have challenged the process and the best place and only place to get 'things done' is at County Committee or at Convention through proposals which will lead to debate and a decision that the clubs within the county vote for.

xxxxxx entering the xxxxxx hurling championship is a complete joke. They won the xxxxxxxx a couple of years ago.

Not a forum for the anonymous individual to castigate a club or individual. This is a forum open to opinion and constructive comments. There is a way of expressing an opinion that is contrary to that of a club or county committee and this is acceptable and encouraged but 'complete joke'is not the way.

Youse know more about the Casement development than I do but traffic management is one factor I believe is causing some concerns. How to cater for 35,000 in a City?
How did Dublin cater for 1.4 million people descending on Phoenix Park in 1979 for the Pope's visit?
Where there is a will there is a way.
How many cars leave all parts of our country every day to travel to Belfast and travel back home- everyday and get space to park their cars!
Big days are just that - part of the experience is getting there - the journey to and from.
And one thing all these smart people are forgetting is that loads of people from Belfast will be able to walk to Casement as Antrim teams will be featuring there on a regular basis - in the not too distant future?

how are the gradings for championship made for next year (2016) ?

The decision to use league position for 2015 was taken last night. The 2016 championship was not discussed but unless another proposal is presented for a change this will remain.

yes St Brigids may be the only ones at Antrim CCC but it is a general perception that they are very influential in county decisions.

Perception has misled those who think this.
