Admin describes last nights game as a ????

Yet another "pseudo" supporter who glorifies in bad results for this county. Go back to sites that welcome your diatribe of hopeless hysteria.

Why do we always have more people quick to blast our County Team when things don't work out. Even when good things are happening like the PRO's write up last week we still get idiots on complaining. Admin I suggest you just stop letting their posts through altogether if they haven't anything constructive or positive to say about OUR County then they don't deserve to grace this board. ROME WASN'T BUILT IN A DAY.

How does the SHC divisional team selection happen. Do the clubs in division nominate 3/4 player each or is there a manager to select. Just thinking if its left to club officials there mightn't be any agreement to enter a team anyway.

It is entirely up to clubs (two, three, four or whatever) to get together on this one and agree a way forward. You can't have a situation where a divisional or county board appoint a manager to pick a team from whatever players they might want. That just simply wouldn't work and would be a recipe for disaster.

just noticed the post from pro transfer, im sure some sort of special hearing for parents to air their views on why a transfer is neccasary should be able to happen, i dont think he was making threats, but god forbid what if his son was in an unbearable situation at his club e.g bullying, i use this just as an example but it is not an impossibility, rather than lose him altogether to our games he should be accomadated. transfering for the sake of transfering is one thing but other reasons for transfering must be heard. i know bullying shouldnt happen anywhere in our association, but as i say this is just one possible reason for a parent or child to want different surroundings a different club,im sure theirs plenty of other valid reasons. we all need to be openminded on this.

The number of these transfer requests received annually would prohibit seperate hearings for each one. Nor is a collective meeting of parents likely - all clubs are represented on County Committee and that's where dissatisfaction can be raised. However, the motion is passed and even if there was any desire to change this, it would now take a 2/3 majority. That said, despite what may seem to be the case, the fact remains that just 2 clubs were against this motion and therefore there is clearly a vast and silent majority in favour of it. As for "bullying" - this is a child protection issue and to use this as reason for transfer is ignoring far more important matters that ought to be a priority.

What happened the nite at casement? ????

Another too willing to jump on the bandwagon of pseudo-supporters who glorify in poor results for your county. Get a life and put some perspective into it. Alternatively, reveal your identity and put your name forward to manage team in this county. We don't think that will happen, somehow.

Heaven Help us all! ???

Did you seriously think we were going to post this tirade of "expert analysis" on this site? You are a classical armchair critic who prefers to hide behind cloaks of anonymity, criticise and jump to baseless conclusions. Get a grip of yourself. Players, managers and critics don't need this sort of abuse or "analysis" after a match which was nothing more than a glorified trial match at this stage of the season.

I agree with 'football team' the south west has a lot more potential than made out. Also, Dessie O'Neill from Tir na Nog and Justy Crozier from Cargin!

It seems a bit of a joke that within are county not one club has nominated a manager for the minor team. Agree with the person below people such as those named should be asked if the would take the job.

What if your club is in the senior championship, but you only play on the reserves. Are you avaialble for the divisional team. May be another way of experiencing the Senior Hurling Championship. Great idea. this is done in counties like Cork and works very well. Will also help improve the standard of the Junior/Intermediate players. Good move Antrim. Any thoughts on ways of improving the players on Junior/Intermediate teams that would not make the divisional team. If we can find a way to do that then we will se drastic improvements in the club hurling scene in Antrim and inevitably the County team. Well done again

All that has happened so far is that this facility has been created to allow combined teams to enter the senior championship. it's up to individual clubs to now get together and take up this option.

my son who is dual code player u14 has legitmate reasons for wanting to leave his club but is told that he cannot transfer to another club, AT ALL, is now considering leaving the association completely and playing soccer. How can this transfer rule be? him leaving would be a great loss to the association!!

If his reasons fit within the category allowable, then he will be permitted to transfer. if not, he can't. If you read back to other contributions on this matter, you will see why this rule has been passed. Threats of leaving the Association simply wont make any difference.

This is a brillant development about getting divisional representation from the lower divisions into the senior hurling championship. If there could be really well structured /good coaching devoted to these players it would have a positive spin-off within their clubs. The lack of progress in my opinion in many clubs outside of the few stronger ones is the scarity of coaches up to speed with the modern game. This will add interest and breathe a bit of life into a championship that has become a bit stale.

if you where apart of th team last year do you stil have to attend the trials.
Also who is th manager for this season?

No manager has been appointed. If you were part of last years panel you are not allowed to attend any trail matches that will be held prior to 1st of March. After that, it's a matter for the new management team.

Im sure your annoyed with questions about a manager. But does anyone know if the minors are competeting in Leinster this year or wat? And does the county not have development squad coaches able to take the minor team, such as lismore or raymond herron? contact them..

No one was nominated. No final decision on participation in Leinster at this stage - awaiting response from Leinster and Ulster Councils.
