Well guess what? The only opinion that matters is what happened at County Convention and all the posts on this and other websites wont change a thing! And, don't worry about the "board" having to make decisions? That's what they volunteered to do and they will manage just fine. It doesn't take too long for the truth to emerge about these sort of things?

Yeah, and how well is the county doing from a National perspective? Until and unless we get more clubs realistically competing, then this county will continue to under-achieve. It was passed simply becuase the majority wanted this "poaching" to stop. That's the reality, whether you like it or not. And maybe you haven't realised it, but we are already losing kids to many other sports becuase they are fit to provide regular maeningful competition. Thanks for proving our point.

That's exactly what the plan seems to be. Is that not what the county chairman indicated in his address to Convention? However, there are some "smaller" clubs like Eire Og who don't fit into this category and are being seriously undermined by the "poaching" mularkey. They need to be listened to and encouraged! Nonetheless, there seems little doubt that "accountability" is something some clubs are going to have to face up to.

Why don't you do something useful for the GAA and stop posting hopeless nonsense like this?

Again, winning at all costs is hopeless. McGeeney didn't go to Dublin for that reason, he was working in Dublin! Clearly you still don't get the "club loyalty issue" and until this happens, this county is always going to struggle. It's amazing how many opinions we are getting on the Belfast situation now. Where were they when the opportunity was there to contribute to the Strategic Plan for Belfast?

Why don't you then offer to help then by providing us with match reports?

There should be no need whatsoever to amalgamate any city teams given the population base at their disposal. Rural clubs would love to have that resource available to them. We would repeat what we said earlier about the club in Dalkey with 66 different teams. It is more about organisation and committment within and to a club rather than walking away from a problem - you did that and your original club don't seem to have progressed anywhere. Yes, you might have made a county minor team by going to another club, but happened the player in that club who you dislodged by taking a place there? Where are they now? Clearly that club isn't any better off and your own club are probably worse off. This motion is designed to eliminate this by preventing the soft option being available.

They are second to none and demonstrates what can be achieved by a club where the membership collectively pulled together for a common goal.

Who do you think "the county" is? Just so you might get the message - "the county" is the clubs! They made this decision to try to improve things for every club. Just 2 clubs opposed this, yes 2, out of over 50! This notion that a player might be in "a bad" club is garbage. A club is only as good as its members and if things are not going as well as they could, genuine members, players and mentors don't walk away from it. You might not like that idea, that's the tough option, its the option that requires courage and committment and it is not the "soft, lily-livered option" of walking away when things don't suit you. You need to get a dose of reality and cut out this "them and us" scenario. If you really want to be a tue gael, then you will realise that there is no "them and us" if anything is going to be successful. Success comes from the collective effort of many and not from a few working but shackled by armchair critics and supporters on the ditches. As for this rubbish about kids being too young to know what they are doing when they join a club at 10 or 11 - this is fantasy. Most kids become part of a club from a much younger age because it is a parent who brings them to that club, becuase that is their club, it is their identity and it is their parish! Now you and others of the same opinion need to wake up and smell the coffee because if your club and our county want any level of success then you need to become an active, genuine and participating member of your club and our county where you don't just walk away becuase things aren't the way they ought to be!
