Antrim v Clare

04 April 2014
We play Clare this Sunday at 2pm in Creggan in what is the last league game of the NFL Div 4 season. At the start of the year Liam Bradley’s squad had promotion in mind and many supporters would have thought that were among the favourites to move up to Div 3. However early defeats to Leitrim and Wicklow set those plans back and while a comfortable win over Waterford kept the hopes alive, that was followed by successive away defeats to Carlow and Tipperary.

A win last week over London has at least opened the possibility of finishing the season with successive wins which would put some momentum into the championship preparations.

Clare arrive in Creggan with plenty to play for; a win for them will see them promoted, regardless of what happens elsewhere, so this is no end of season dead rubber. Both teams have been posting high scores and the spread of attacking scores has been a definite positive for the Saffrons this season.

At different stages of the season each of Tomas McCann, Bam Neeson and CJ McGourty have led the scoring for Antrim and all three start on Sunday.

It’s the last competitive outing before the summer, get along and support our county.
