Antrim GAA stars were to the fore at the Quinn Direct Ulster GAA Writers Jubilee Banquet at the weekend when the local GAA scribes marked the highs of 2012 across all codes of gaelic games.
Loughgiel’s Liam Watson picked up the Hurler of the Year Award, with Aisling Reilly of St Pauls winning the Female Handballer of the Year Award.

At the gala event in the Great Northern Hotel in Bundoran, the GAA Writers also marked their 25th year with a number of Jubilee Awards, honouring the stars of the past quarter of a century.

Rossa’s Jane Adams won the Jubilee Camogie Award, and Fiona Shannon of St Paul’s lifted the Female Handball Jubilee Award.

A Jubilee Hurling team was also named, with Antrim players accounting for 11 of the starting 15 positions.

The team was picked from all the Ulster GAA Writers Award winners from the past 25 years.
