FELIX MULLIGAN OVER 40’S 7-ASIDE TOURNAMENT
Lámh Dhearg are staging an Over 40’s 7 a-side Football Tournament on Sunday 25thNovember on their 3g pitch between 2.00-4.00.The tournament is in honour of their late esteemed and popular President, Felix Mulligan.
It promises to be an exciting afternoon of quality and football as the veterans of host club Lamh Dhearg will be joined by St John’s, Davitt’s, St Agnes, St Teresa’s and an Ulster Select featuring former all Ireland winners from Derry, Enda Gormley, Henry Downey and Fergal McCusker, and Donegal's Tommy Ryan.
Felix was an absolute gentleman who give a quality voluntary lifetime service to the club and his death was a huge loss to his family, the club and the Rock and Hannahstown Community.
Felix was a passionate and dedicated club stalwart who was always pro actively supporting the club on the field or in fund raising initiatives and social events as well as contributing to a positive input into the administration of club affairs. Felix didn’t miss too many games irrespective of the level, venue or weather and witnessed many highs as well as lows but this never deterred his burning enthusiasm love and pride of the club.
It was quite fitting that Felix was bestowed the honour of Club President last year in recognition of his outstanding and exemplary service to the club over decades .
