Beauty Spot to host O’Neill’s Poc Fada Uladh 2012
The rescheduled O’Neill’s Ulster Poc Fada will go ahead THIS Saturday 21st July, at Divis Mountain, Belfast commencing at 11.00am. Everyone welcome.

Speaking ahead of the outdoor event Chairman of Ulster Hurling Committee Martin McAviney stated, “The weather forecast is good for Saturday and the number of competitors is up on previous years so it should be an all action day on Divis Mountain in Belfast. It’s always a special occasion when Ulster’s long distance ‘strikers’ of the sliothar come together and this year the target man to beat will be Derry’s Ruairi Convery, who has won the last three Ulster Poc Fada titles.

“Ulster GAA in association with O’Neills is delighted to announce competitions across all age groups, including: Senior, Over 40 and Under 16 in Hurling and in Camogie Senior, Over 35 and Under 16 competitions.

“This will be the first year for us also to launch the inaugural Senior ‘Cic Fada’ competition, which will involved Gaelic Footballers from across Ulster.”

“This is sure to be a great family day out for spectators of all ages to attend in this area of outstanding natural beauty.”

The O’Neill’s Poc Fada Uladh 2012 starts at 11am sharp from Lamh Dhearg GAA
