Rossa ready for Feile Peil na nOg
O’Donovan Rossa Belfast will be representing Antrim at this year’s Feile Peil na nOg in Counties Laois & Offaly from the 22nd to24th June.
This very young Rossa team will be competing in Division 1 for the first time in Antrim's history due to the success of Antrim club teams in recent years.
Thirteen of the starting fifteen are eligible to play under 14 again next year.
The team’s success has been a result of the effort and determination of all the players involved and the hard work of their coaches Dominic McEnhill, Hugh McGettigan& Ciaran Grego. They are a credit to themselves, their families and their club.
Rossa will be hosted by Clara in County Offaly. From all accounts, our hosts have a great weekend of events planned for us. As any one that has ever been to Feilewill tell you, the weekend experience is not just about playing: It’s about visiting other parts of Ireland; meeting new friends; celebrating our Irish culture and creating memories that will be with you for the rest of your life. No matter what the match resultsare, just enjoy it!
Some of the events include a visit to two local schools when the team arrives; BBQ; Disco; hurling match and, what is sure to draw the crowds from all over Offalyand surrounding counties, an over 35 Gaelic Football match on Saturday between the coaches and parents of both clubs. “An array of bygone talent will be on display.”
