Rossa U16 hurlers captured the County title at the weekend a few weeks after winning the South Antrim title.
On a very wet and windy Sunday afternoon Rossa’s young hurlers lit up Casement Park with an excellent display of first time hurling.
Rossa had the wind at their backs however the first half was pretty even until the last five minutes when Rossa’s Deaglan Murphy got two quick points followed by a great individual goal by Callum McVeigh. This enabled Rossa to go into half time with a four point lead.
The second half started with plenty of pressure from Cushendall who reduced the lead to two. Rossa eventually got to grips with the game with quick scores from Seaghan Shannon and a goal from Aidan Orchin. The defence was well marshalled by Domhnall Moran and in midfield Feraghal Lyden and Nathan Early ran them selves into the ground, this enabled Rossa to get over the finish line and to run out victorious by four points.
Rossa will be going for the double when they take on Glenavy this Saturday at 5.30pm Casement Park in the U16 All County Football Final.
