Two second-half goals by CJ McGourty helped St Gall’s to yet another Senior Championship title as they beat Cargin by 2-13 to 0-10 in Saturday evening’s final at Casement Park.
There was little to chose between the sides in a low-key opening half at the end of which St Gall’s led by 0-7 to 0-5, but a goal soon after the restart by Conor McGourty set the All Ireland champions on the victory path.
CJ added a second as the Milltown men powered clear of their challengers to clinch their fourth title on the trot and incredibly their tenth in eleven years.
