The management are sorry to announce that due to Championship Fixtures, injuries and other unforeseen circumstance that the team is unable to attend there blitz this weekend.

Only 13 out of 32 players where available for selection. This is a disappointment for all involved as the team had qualified for the A standard section of the Blitz and were due to face Tyrone and Derry (2009 Under 16 Champions).

The team had a very successful year, recording wins against Fermanagh, Armagh, Down, Louth, & Carlow with a narrow defeat to Wexford.

This is a pleasing set of results and reflects the progress and standard of football within the county at youth level. The attitude of the players was excellent throughout and they are credit to themselves and their clubs.

We would also like to congratulate all those who have succeeded at club level this year with their Minor teams. The majority of this young talent have developed such that they are representing their club at senior level, creating the unfortunate circumstances with the weekend fixture.

This, as unfortunate it maybe, augers well for the future of our game. All club and school coaches should be congratulated with the work they have done the years and the support they have given their players to attend the county development squads.

The squad comprised of 32 players over the season with 20 of these being involved in Under 15/16 squads in the past. Also 6 were a part of the minor squad in 2010.

We would like to thank the parents, county officials, Ciara and all the Development Officers at Casement for their support this year.

Finally, to the young men who have worked with us this year, we wish them the best over the winter as they pit themselves against each other at school level and trust they will continue to work on their fitness and skills. You have been a credit to yourselves, your family, your club and your county all year and we wish you all the best with next year’s minor trails and competition.
