This Saturday the Club Aontroma National League draw which has been raising funds to support the development of gaelic games throughout the county, reaches new heights when the prize fund will be £500. The round of draws in advance of each of Antrim’s home games in both the hurling and football leagues has been a notable success so far and Colm McKenna, Club Aontroma Chairman, expects Saturday’s to be the biggest draw so far.

“It’s Antrim’s biggest night of the year so far. With promotion in the balance for our footballers we are expecting a huge Antrim support to turn out. Saturday night matches tend to attract bigger crowds and the floodlights make for a great atmosphere. Louth have plenty to play for too and they should bring a decent support to Casement on Saturday also. In addition the All Ireland club champions St Galls will be presented to the crowd before the game so all in all it makes for the biggest county fixture of the year so far.

“Club Aontroma has decided to increase the prize for the winning ballot from £200 to £500. Given that the proceeds go towards the development of the games and particularly the ladies footballers who will be selling on the night, then Antrim supporters have every incentive to dig deep on the way into the match. An Antrim victory on Saturday begins when you buy your ballot!”

Ballots cost £2 each or 3 for £5. The winning ballot is drawn at half time and will be announced over the PA system.
