Would you be prepared to give some of your time to GAA?
As we go forward within Antrim Gaa, onward and upward, for some time to come hopefully, there is a growing need for more volunteers, both male and female, to ensure that organisational obligations are being met. To that effect we, as a county need volunteers to help run scheduled events in Casement Park. Whilst duties are varied, in some situations even mundane, they often entail unseen aspects of Gaa activity, which make for the smooth running of scheduled events.
Health and safety issues are perhaps often taken for granted but the reality of the world in which we all must live does not allow for such luxury. From orderly car parking to ensuring that patrons may easily find and occupy their allocated seats as they attend scheduled games, often necessitates a degree of crowd control and the maintenance of good order. This has of necessity to be effected by way of stewarding and is an essential part of Gaa
The recent success of Antrim Senior Footballers in particular, has created a situation where larger crowds of supporters can be reasonably anticipated. It follows that more trained Stewards are now needed, as we go onward and hopefully upward. Volunteers will be fully trained in all aspects of their duties up to NVQ level one. In addition such volunteers may expect to be treated favourably, subject only to regular attendance, in respect of further entitlement to preferential ticket allocation for relevant competitions.
For a variety of good reasons Gaa volunteers have always been to the core of GAA success as of right. The Association is for ever indebted to its volunteers who since inception, have served with distinction, making the Gaa the success that it is today.
