Our last course of the 2009 programme will be on Monday night - "Tackling in Hurling & Camogie". The courses have been brilliantly attended with over 300 attending over the 3 previous nights. I hope to see a great turn out for this last session. It is an outdoor observation session and again its free to all coaches, parents, teachers and parents. Its in McQuillan Park in Ballycastle under floodlights. Please encourage as many coaches from your club/school to attend. I hope to see many of you there. Joe Cassidy Course: Tackling in Hurling/Camogie Date: Monday 2nd March 2009 Time: 7.30pm -9.00pm Venue: McQuillans Ballycastle Tutor: Jim Nelson This course is aimed at providing coaches with the skills and knowledge of Tackling. It will go through various tackling situations and the methods that can be used, and the different disciplines used in tackling. The key focus will be on technique and safety. It will also include game situations, where the various methods of tackling can be used. This course is delivered by Jim Nelson. Jim was the Antrim manager in1989 All-Ireland final, and has followed this up by coaching UUJ and Rossa camogie teams. He is currently part of the Antrim senior hurling management team.
