Beginners Irish language classes will start again on Tuesday nights in Dunloy from 3th February. Classes start at 7.30pm for 1½ hours each night and will run for 8 weeks until Easter. Fees will be £30.00 (£20 concession)
This friendly, informal course is an introduction to the language and culture of Ireland. It is a structured course for everyday Irish using speech, listening, reading and writing, with grammar on a ‘need to know’ basis. It covers the vocabulary and phrases needed to have a social conversation, including how to greet people, discuss the weather, tell the time and date, order and pay for food and drink and go shopping. Once the basics have been mastered the content moves on to subjects such as, where you live, family, occupation and hobbies in a range of everyday situations. Role plays and other exercises are used throughout the course to keep it practical and fun, and to ensure that each section is understood. The course will have a flexible content to allow the needs of the class to be met. Whether you are a complete beginner or already have some knowledge of Irish, this course will enable you to speak, read and write the language.
