Holy Cross Boys Win Raffo Showdown

Holy Cross Boys' Primary School 2-9 St. Aidan's Primary School 2-2

Holy Cross Boys' Primary School in North Belfast created history when they captured their first ever Raffo Cup Championship at Casement Park in April 2008.

The school has an excellent record in all Gaelic Games in recent times and had already secured the handball. Two goal strikes from Fionntan Marley and Pearce McConnell, in either half, helped seal an historic 2-9 to 2-2 victory over St. Aidan's, Belfast.

" We're delighted with the school's first ever win in the top grade of the Antrim Cumann na Bunscol competition. We have put in a lot of hard work into handball, hurling and gaelic football over the years and it's great to see those efforts pay dividends. Ardoyne Kickhams are a very proud GAA club and their support over the years has also helped accomplish this sort of achievement," said coach and teacher, Armagh's Tomas McKee.

"Maybe some of these boys will once again play at Casement Park for the Antrim minor or senior teams in the coming years," said McKee.
