Antrim GAA Visit the Official Club Aontroma Website
As Gaeilge - Márta 2007

Dia daoibh agus fáilte romhaibh arais! Hello and welcome back, I hope you all had a Nollaig mhaith, and that Daidí na Nollag came to you!

Finn the Saffron Óg Football mascot I suppose you’ll all be starting training again ar an pháirc. Remember to bring all your gear with you! You’ll need your bróga peile for a start for both peil and iomáint. If you’re playing hurling, a camán would be useful, and a clogad to keep your head safe!

Mí Feabhra was a big month for us in Aontroim, Cushendall, Gort na Móna agus Ahoghill played their All-Ireland Club Semi-Finals san iomáint.

Our senior teams started their cluichí sa tSraith Náisiúnta last month as well. Ádh mór orthu. As the saying goes in Irish – tús maith leath na hoibre – a good start is half of the work!

The more support for all our teams the better, so try and get to watch them playing, be it i bPáirc Mhic Ásmaint or wherever, it all counts. And remember to shout sean-ard do chinn, so that the players know that you’re there!

So until we meet again, keep practising, and try and show off some of your Gaeilge to your friends and family, you might get a few ‘brownie points’, and who knows you might need some of these phrases if you go up to lift Sam or Liam i bPáirc an Chrócaigh for Aontroim someday!

Adh mór oraibh a chairde!
