Davitts U8 young gaels had their first ever visit to Croke Park for the Leinster final between Galway and Kilkenny. Heading of early in the morning we stopped of first at our friends St Marks in Dublin for games at both codes.
First up was the hurlers, played with great skill and commitment all the teams played very well, pity the sporadic showers didn't ease up but the kids hurled away leaving nothing on the pitch. A timely break then it was the footballers time to shine and with all kids now well warmed up after the hurling. All teams played with the bigger ball with great confidence for such a young age no one letting up right to the final whistle. For both clubs the games were very competitive and must take confidence at this level the futures bright.
St Marks then provided a nice meal for everyone and made a kind gesture with a beautiful memento to capture the days event. The hospitality from this club on the day was appreciated by everyone representing our club.
Next stop was headquarters and all the kids were divided on who the wanted to win with all who cheered on the cats let their friends who supported the Tribesmen know who had won. Not a sad face thou as these young kids looked amazed to be in such a big arena. This is what makes a club days like today, we hope everyone enjoyed the games and the main event, great memories for our future.
