TOURDEFITZ HIGHWAY TO HEALTH CYCLE
In conjunction with the Tour de Fitz cycle to Newry/Croke Park Lamh Dhearg held a very successful family highway to health cycle. Despite horrendous weather conditions up to 300 enthusiastically participated in the cycle with young and old having a very enjoyable time and supporting PIPS and club development and paying a fitting tribute to the memory of Eddie Fitzsimons. Many thanks to Irwins Bakery, McDonald's and Saveway supermarket for providing much needed refreshments. The Club would also like to acknowledge Belfast City Council for provision of bikes and Garvey Cycles for loan of a popular tricycle and thanks to NI Fire service for attending the event.

HANNAHSTOWN HILL TO HILL 16 CYCLE
The Tour de Fitz Hannahstown Hill to Hill 16 cycle organised by Lámh Dhearg CLG was a huge success with 107 cyclists reaching Croke Park and 15 cyclists successfully reaching their destination of Newry despite horrendous weather conditions. They set off from the club at 7.00 after an address from Eddie's father and club Chairman Frank senior and Lord Mayor Arder Carson and blessing from Parish priest Fr McGuckin .

All cyclists should be commended for showing great character, endurance and fitness and for making the event a poignant tribute to Eddie Fitzsimons and as well supporting PIPS and club development funds. It is very encouraging to see that the event not only attracted support from its own members but from fellow gaels and the wider community and the club would to acknowledge to all concerned in contributing to a very professionally organised and memorable event.
