Child Protection
It is imperative that all clubs create the safest possible environment for all children and young people to participate in GAA Games and Activities. Central to this is the role of the Children’s Officer and Designated Officer. It is mandatory that every club has a Children’s Officer and that they are adequately trained to fulfil the requirements of their roles. Thiscourse provides that necessary training for both roles and is an excellent source of support and advice in a very sensitive area of club life.

Project Management & Facilities Development
This course reviews the operations and strategy that a Club must adopt when building new facilities. An overview of project management, tendering and procurement will be provided with a best practice case study. At present a significant amount of GAA capital projects enjoy partnership funding and as a result Clubs must follow strict guidelines on development. The workshop will also review GAA regulations and requirements for facilities.

Valuing Volunteers
Volunteers are the most valuable asset within our GAA clubs and it is important they are recognised for their efforts. This session will highlight best practice and experiences from clubs throughout the province, providing advice on how a plan can be implemented to help recruit, retain and recognise volunteers within their community.

Securing Public Funding
This workshop will review the different sources of public funding available North and South for GAA/Community Development. Best practice and guidance for the completion of funding applications.

ANTRIM GOLDMARK
WEDNESDAY 25th February, 7:20pm-7:45pm: Edmund Rice College, Glengormley

GoldMark is a dynamic programme aimed at promoting and recognising sports volunteering for 14 to 24 year olds. The GoldMark Scheme is run by Volunteer Now and recognises three levels of volunteering 50 hours, 100 hours and 200 hours. This initiative is recognised by Department of Education and will help young volunteers on CVs and college applications. This workshop will provide information for young volunteers and their clubs on the benefits of the programme and how they can become involved in the programme. Clubs can register young volunteers for this workshop by emailing sharon.haughey.ulster@gaa.ie or phone 048 37517 180
