Lámh Dhearg CLG will launch its Hannahstown Hill to Hill 16 Cycle , #TourdeFitz

on Monday 2nd February in clubrooms @ 7.00pm. The cycle is being held in memory of former senior player, popular club stalwart and referee Eddie Fitzsimons who sadly passed away in September. Eddie’s father and chairman of club Frank senior and his brother, Frank Junior, current Antrim senior football manager, will launch the cycle.

The cycle will take place on Saturday May 2nd in conjunction with a shorter cycle to Pairc Esler in Newry and a family cycle around the club’s Highway to Health path providing ample opportunity for all club members irrespective of age and fitness to participate and support such a worthy cause.

Proceeds of the sponsored event will be donated to Suicide Awareness and club funds

Michael Herron , Event Organizer "It is important that we use Eddie's untimely passing as a stark reminder of just how vulnerable life can be at times. It is hoped this cycle will provide many people with the opportunity to positively remember Eddie again, tackle the stigma surrounding mental health issues and enhance the health and well-being of all those involved."

Frank Fitzsimons Sen. “the family are so proud and delighted that so many club members are willing to participate in the cycle. It is so satisfying to see the club which meant so much to Eddie and PIPS will benefit. The cycle will be a very fitting and poignant tribute to Eddie’s memory”

Frank Fitzsimons Jun” It promises to be an exciting event and one which Eddie would be so proud of. The event embodies two of Eddie’s strongest qualities, his athleticism and fitness and caring human nature helping others. I wish everyone involved all the best.
