From 30th June to 4th July, St. Mary's University College, Belfast will host Antrim’s first Michaela
Foundation Summer Camp for girls aged 11 to 13.
Michaela Foundation’s Summer Camps are tailor designed for girls aged 11- 13 with fun activities
based on 5 core elements: Fun, Fashion, Faith, Irish and Wellbeing. No two days at a Michaela
Foundation Camp are the same. Each day is jam packed with fun activities in each of the five elements
aiming to encourage Campettes to grow in confidence and ultimately lead a happy and fulfilled life
without limits.
In addition to all of the treats the Campettes will make and bring home, each attendee will also receive
a limited edition O’Neills summer camp jersey, unique to Michaela Campettes.
Under the direction of Head Camp Co-ordinators Orla McIntyre and Sarah Jane Maskey, the Antrim
Team of volunteers met on Saturday 31st May in The Pump House restaurant Belfast to commence
their preparations.
Michaela Foundation has received very impressive feedback from last year’s Campettes about their
experience. One Campette said, “Awesome, extraordinary. The best thing I’ve ever done!”
Parents noticed the impact too, one parent posted on Facebook “Enrol your young girl - she will love
it! Last year my daughter emerged much more mature and thoughtful.” Not to mention the benefits
leaders’ obtain from participation, “I benefited greatly from the camp. I gained friends for life
and skills that I can use time and time again. I also gained so much confidence.
John McAreavey from Michaela Foundation said, “We are delighted to be able to spread the camp to
even more venues this summer. We are particularly excited to bring the Michaela Foundation Camp
experience to Belfast, Mayo, Dublin and Kildare for the first time! The Tyrone camp reached full
capacity within 12 hours of commencing registration last year, demonstrating the great demand for
places. We have a great team of almost 400 trained Camp volunteers who we know will inspire the
Campettes. I would encourage people to sign up soon, as places will go fast.”
Camp runs from 9.15am to 3.45pm each day.
