Statement from Antrim County Board
“We have been informed this afternoon that Frank Dawson has stepped down from his position as Antrim senior football manager.
"Frank’s re appointment was ratified by County Committee last month. In recent weeks we have been planning for the coming year with Frank, setting out what we all hope the team will achieve and we regarded those discussions as ongoing. At no stage was there any indication of the kind of issues raised by Frank in his statement today. Today’s decision, relayed by text message, came as a surprise to the County officers.
"We now draw a line under the brief Dawson era. We are looking forward and we will move to set up a process to appoint a new manager for Antrim footballers in the coming weeks.”
