Our U21 hurlers continue their preparations for Saturday's historic All Ireland final V Clare, which will take place in Thurles at 5pm.

The squad trained last night at All Saints club in Ballymena and we hosted media outlets from across Ireland as the young saffron continue to attract attention.

The message from the players and management is very simple: "we know what we are up against and we aim to be competitive right throughout the game."

There is no doubting the quality in the Clare side, and it is well recorded that 4 of their senior team are still Under 21 and will in all likelihood line out on Saturday. Clare can be said to be one of the finest U21 teams ever.

However, we too have a sprinkling of senior county players in our U21 ranks and one thing the squad doesn't lack is a belief in their own ability.

Team captain Jackson McGreevy (in between being asked where he got his Christian name from....) was asked if he was nervous, or excited, or both as he looked ahead to Saturday.

"More excited than nervous"
