For only the second time, the Rice Cup(football) will reside at Pim Street for the next year. An Ulster competition for present and past Christian Brother Schools, Tyrone County pitch in Omagh was the venue. Skippered by Gerard Bermingham and ably supported by his midfield partner Shay Kane, the New Lodge Gaels, who ply their trade in the Antrim Allianz Cumann na mBunscol leagues, dispatched schools from Armagh, Newry and Belfast.

In the final, it took great resilience and team work from the North Belfast boys especially Lewis McFadden, Corey McAuley and Kyle Smith in defence, to hold a strong and determined Park Lodge team. Indeed at the final whistle, the teams were level and so extra-time was required. Points from Rhys Montague and Primary 5 star Thomas Shannon proved the difference at the end. A great block from Sean O'Rourke in the dieing minutes denied a potential goal and victory for the Glengormley side.

In the Bro. Hamil Cup for hurling, the Pim Street boys were unlucky to come up against a talented Armagh CBS in the final. Having played many games of football in the morning, the boys just ran out of steam.

The boys were presented with the Rice Cup and their medals by Mr John Mcguiness, Chairman of hosting school, Holy Family Omagh.
