In our first hurling league game of 2012 Antrim fell behind by 5 points to Wexford after the opening 10 minutes.

From then on though the Saffrons got on top and 3 first half goals meant we were leading at the break. The Wexford men piled on the pressure after the break but Antrim held on for a 6 point win.

That victory was based on a competitive approach, a determination to hold onto a winning position, not to mention very well taken goals from Shane McNaughton and Karl Stewart.

The same ingredients tomorrow, aligned with an overall performance which echoes the opening league game against Limerick rather than last Sunday's defeat to Dublin, could see our first points on the board.

Our footballers also play a league match against opposition we met last year, and again the home /away roles are reversed, with the Rossies coming to Casement.

Last year Antrim opened with an early goal but then simply under performed for the rest of the game. To get a win tomorrow we need to show the kind of consistency that Sean McVeigh talks about elsewhere on this page.

Can they do it? No doubt about it. There is a feeling within the camp that the best league form is yet to come, lets hope it arrives tomorrow.
