The Dónal Mag Uidhir Annual Senior Football Tournament will take
place this Saturday March 2nd with the first throw-in at 11am.

Teams include: Sarsfields (host), Ballyhegan, Co Armagh, Clann Mhic
Darragh, Dungannon Clarkes Co Tyrone, St. Teresa's Co Antrim,
rumaness Co Down and Clonmore Co Armagh and Tattyreagh Co Tyrone.

The popular ‘Celebs –v- Donal's family and friends’ match will throw
in at 3:15pm with stars such as Paddy Barnes (Olympian), along with
GAA stars Jarlath Burns, Liam Watson, Paddy Cunningham, Kevin Madden, Ger Houlahan, Jody Gormley, Seán McGreevy, Tony Scullion, Gerard Houlahan, Jody Gormley, Gearóid Adams, Aisling Reilly, Alan
Milton, Ryan Feeney and our county Chairperson, Jim Murray.

Dónal Maguire is a past member of Sarsfields and was a very talented
musician who died in September 2007. His family approached the club
following their tragic loss endeavouring to highlight awareness, in a
positive manner, of the issue of suicide which plagues communities
throughout the country. As a result the tournament is organised and
co-coordinated between Sarsfield"s and Donal's family.

The weekend event will be launched on Friday 1st March with a
traditional music session in the clubrooms starting at 9.30pm, a night
not to be missed.

Last year in addition to raising awareness, we raised £1400 which was
donated to local suicide awareness charities. There will be ample
opportunities to donate on the day for anyone who wishes to. Our
chosen charity this year is PIPS (Public Initiative for the Prevention
of Suicide and Self Harm). The group provides bereavement support and
a wide range of training programmes. Please note that all donations
are voluntary and will be paid directly to the chosen charity.
