The young hurlers of Lamh Dhearg won the All County U16 B final at the weekend, with a win over Oisins Gac in the match played at St Endas Gac Glengormley, and refereed by Seamus Reid of McDermotts.
Lamh Dhearg finished winners after extra time on a scoreline of 2.12 v 1.12. It was a very exciting game with the lead changing many times as both teams strove to build up a lead but were pegged back. With two minutes to go in injury time, Oisins levelled the game and scored a point from the puck out to take the lead. Lamh Dhearg showed great character to win the next puck out and then get the point needed to take it to extra time.
The game then went into 2 x periods of extra time with Lamh Dhearg emerging winners. Well done to both teams especially the display of both goalkeepers.
