On behalf of Club Aontroma can I thank eveyone who took part in our excellent Golf Classic at the Hilton Golf and Country Club in Templepatrick. Despite numbers being reduced due to the forced re-arrangement of the County Football Final we still had some 80 golfers on the course which was in fantastic condition despite the recent heavy rain.
This was perhaps the most closely contested classics we have seen with some excellent team scores. The overall winners - Sisk - NI, a team which included county stars Michael McCann and Miceal Magill scored an excellent 97 points and were closely followed by guests of Antrim GAA with 95 points. Naomh Pol came in 3rd with a score of 90 - generally good enough to win this sort of competition.
Thanks must go to all those companies and individuals who supported us, especially Sisk - NI who were the principal sponsor for the event.
A big thank you to the Hilton staff for presenting the course in such great condition and for looking after us all so well.
And last but by no means least, a big personal thank you to my Club Aontroma colleagues who were there, before and on the day, to make it all possible.
This was a great success and next years will be even better.
