Jim Nelson is determined that the Antrim hurlers end their season on a positive note, following last week’s heavy defeat to Limerick.

Speaking ahead of the Ulster Hurling Final this Sunday, the Antrim veteran, who answered the call of his county to take the team through to the end of the season said that the team is focussed on retaining their provincial title.

“The Ulster final on Sunday is both our final match of this season and an opportunity to finish on a positive note by retaining our provincial title. We are focussed on the importance of this game and it is important for Antrim that we retain our Ulster title. We won’t be giving it up easily to Derry today.

"Last Saturday in Limerick was soul destroying for any Antrim fans and followers should be aware that it felt that way for the players as well. Losing in that manner was not what we set to achieve and it was a low point for Antrim hurling in recent years. We have to pick ourselves up and hurl today with passion and determination. Those qualities are in the players and I am sure fans will see that this weekend.”
