DUP Mayor opens Antrim Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Belfast Finals Day
Despite the inclement weather Antrim Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Belfast Finals Day took place at Casement Park with the Lord Mayor of Belfast Alderman Gavin Robinson (DUP) in attendance.
In the Raffo Cup it was Holy Cross PS from Ardoyne who overcame a gallant display from a very young St Bride's PS team. The jubliant team was presented with the 'Allianz' sponsored Raffo Cup by the Mayor of Belfast Alderman Gavin Robinson who was very impressed by the skill and commitment from all the young gaels on the day.
In the 'A' Hurling Final, history was made by Christ the Redeemer PS who hurled their hearts out to lift the Cup over a very unlucky St Anne's PS who on the day lost out in three different finals. This was the first Hurling title for Christ the Redeemer PS who had earlier in the day, secured victory in the McCarragher Cup after overcoming a strong fight-back from St Comgall's PS from Bangor.
In the 'B' Hurling Final, St Colman's enjoyed success over Holy Trinity PS. The girls from Holy Trinity PS did bring silverware back to Turf Lodge when they defeated St Anne's by the narrowist margin in the Girls' Football Final.
The last title of the day went to South Belast school St Michael's, who having had great success in the Antrim Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Leagues this year, just ran-out winners over St Anne's in the Camogie Final.
