Get on the Team – GAA first launched for Saffron fans near and far

Club Aontroma, the official fund-raising organization for Gaelic games in Antrim, has unveiled a unique all-in-one membership for Football, Hurling, Camogie and Ladies Football supporters.

The trail-blazing concept is known as ONE ANTRIM and those who sign up will receive a wide range of benefits, including their names printed as part of the numbers on the jerseys of their Saffron heroes. In addition, ONE ANTRIM members will receive a personalized limited edition miniature jersey, a limited edition Antrim Pin to be worn with pride and the chance to enter a quarterly draw with major prizes.

Antrim GAA Chairman Jim Murray, who was joined by Club Aontroma Secretary Frank MacElhatton, All Star icon Jane Adams and Antrim footballer Brian Neeson at Casement Park for the launch said:

"The launch of ONE ANTRIM is a massive step forward in development of Gaelic games in this County. ONE ANTRIM recognises the importance of supporters and volunteers on and off the field. I would encourage every Antrim Gael to be part of it and join ONE ANTRIM. It means that at some time this year or the near future you could see your name on an Antrim jersey all the way from Casement to Croke Park.

"The unifying membership package creates a first in Gaelic sport. Every signed-up member will receive a range of benefits and will also have their name or a family member’s name inscribed on the back of both an Antrim Championship Hurling and Football team jersey, worn throughout the championship. In addition, you will be able to name a club or school who will benefit directly from your membership,” he added.

Club Aontroma Secretary Frank MacElhatton added: "Those who join ONE ANTRIM will receive a wide range of benefits. They will be included will be a members’ quarterly draw that will feature top prizes including holidays, a limited edition miniature jersey, a limited edition Antrim Pin and a range of other benefits.

"You can find all information on our website www.clubaontroma.com where you can sign up for £10 per month or contact our Business Development Director Catherine O’Hara on for further information,” he added.

Club Aontroma's target is to have supporters of 'ONE ANTRIM' signed up with names on the backs of shirts before the first Championship game at the end of May."

Camogie All-Star Jane Adams added: "We are asking businesses, and also Antrim team followers within our schools and our clubs to sign up to ‘ONE ANTRIM’ - which is an exciting and innovative way to build support for our games across the county.

"When an Antrim senior Championship team takes to the field in Hurling, Camogie, and Gaelic football, the players represent all of us. Wherever the Saffron jersey is worn in major competition, we support ONE team, wearing ONE jersey,” she added.
