Neil McManus is looking forward to Sunday’s national hurling league against Laois, and believes the game will be as high pressure as any other this year.
“After our last two defeats we are now looking over our shoulder a little bit and we want to win to put some daylight between ourselves and the bottom of the league table. We did lose over the last two games but there were positives to be taken out of each one, there were long periods when we were dominant in each game. Jerry has been trying different players in different positions and I think the shape of the team is now very strong.
Antrim V Laois have been tight games in recent years and Neil is well aware that while Antrim won out in the Leinster Championship last year, Laois have held the upper hand in league games.
“Like ourselves Laois have had a change of management and they are building a new team and striving to be competitive in games. They will be coming up looking for a win, we know that for certain, and we are ready for a tough game.
“Hopefully the home venue and a big support on account of the two games will push us on. We want to finish the league strongly, starting this weekend.”
