Creagh Concrete, producers of concrete products for the construction and engineering industry, has extended its sponsorship of the Antrim football and hurling teams. Next year the saffron senior, minor and under 21 football and hurling teams will all wear the Creagh name on their jerseys. The deal was welcomed by the County Board and the company.
Antrim Chairman Jim Murray said,
“We are very pleased that Creagh Concrete has taken up the option of renewing their deal with Antrim. This will be the 5th year in which our county team has worn the Creagh name and in that time we have had good years with both our hurlers and footballers and we certainly hope that will be the case in 2012. We are fully aware that the business environment is a tough one and it is not an easy decision for companies to identify resources for sponsorship. However I believe this deal will pay off for both Creagh and Antrim. I wish to thank the McKeague brothers for their continued support.
Speaking on behalf of the company, director Paddy McKeague said,
“Creagh is a family business and we are very committed to our local community. No organisation demonstrates that commitment more than the GAA and we are delighted to extend our relationship with Antrim. We know that the county has ambitious plans, on and off the field, and we want to be part of that.”
Antrim Secretary Frankie Quinn said that Antrim had more businesses on board as supporters now than at any time in the past.
“Our championships in 2011 were sponsored by Contract Services and Browns Fish & Chips while McElhatton’s solicitors supported our development squads. Other businesses have supported and attended various fundraising initiatives. It takes a lot of resource to run a dual county like ours and we hope to unveil more commercial partners early next year.”
