Antrim manager Liam Bradley has said that the game last weekend against Mayo was a useful workout for the Antrim team – despite the eventual result. Antrim lost the game 3.11 to 0.10.

“We gave away 2.2 at the very start of the game and were playing catch up after that. But at the end of the day the result was very much secondary. A lot of our players who had been injured during the league got game time, that included Michael McCann, Kevin O’Boyle, Kevin Niblock and others. I always said that if we end up at the end of the season with a disappointing league campaign but a successful championship then I would settle for that. The management team knows exactly what kind of football this team is capable of and after an intense period of training and preparation there is a renewed vigour to the Antrim team.

“Since the league ended our focus has been totally on the Donegal game. Our medical team have worked day and night in order that we can put as strong a team as possible on the pitch next week and the pace of training has been stepped up. We are absolutely committed to putting the best prepared Antrim team we can on the pitch next weekend.”
