Lindsay Ford, Northern Ireland’s largest Ford and Mazda dealer, have teamed up with the Antrim Senior Hurling team, sponsoring a brand new Ford Transit Van to be used as a Senior Team Kit van for the 2011 season.

Commenting on the sponsorship deal, Lindsay Ford Director Dermot Rafferty;

“We at Lindsay Ford are delighted to be associated with the Antrim hurlers. Antrim hurling has a rich tradition, and has been for some time now the standard bearers for hurling in Ulster. With the majority of our eight branches based around Belfast City and rural Co. Antrim, we see this as an opportunity to forge closer links with followers of the county teams throughout Antrim. We wish the Saffrons well for 2011”.

Speaking at the handover of the keys for the new kit van, Dominic Kearns from the Antrim management team welcomed the support from Lindsay Ford:

“The Kit Van has become an invaluable part of the preparation required for the training of the team. The equipment required for all different aspects of team training has increased over the years and for this reason the team van is essential.

Not only for training, but on match days it enables us to go ahead of the team convoy and prepare pitches and changing rooms for the arrival of the team. It allows players to relax knowing everything is prepared and on site.

We are pleased to be the first team to be sponsored with a van from Lindsay Ford and it shows a great commitment from local businesses to invest in Antrim GAA. Hopefully this relationship will continue in years to come.”
