Today at Dunsilly, Antrim Gaels were given the chance to see firsthand the progress made in developing the Centre for Participation which the county is delivering, in partnership with the Ulster Council, Central Council and St Comgalls club. Many clubs within the county were represented, though not as many as we would have wished to see there.

We were joined by councillors from Antrim borough council who have supported the project, and local MLAs Thomas Burns and Mitchell McLaughlin. Antrim hurling manager Dinny Cahill was joined by hurlers Paul Shiels and Neil McManus. Following an introduction from County Chairman Jim Murray there was a brief presentation from Brendan Mulgrew, County PRO which demonstrated the progress made on site, and a series of photographs provided by Tommy Crilly depicting progress on the site since construction began through to the present day.

Visitors were then bussed the short journey from the Dunsilly hotel to the site. Thankfully the sun was shining and we were able to show off the Dunsilly site in the best light possible. In the course of today Club Aontroma officials presented a cheque to the County for £45,000.

Today Dunsilly became more than just a name on a map and it moved on from being a concept.

Pictures from today will shortly appear in the Gallery section. Thanks as usual to John McIlwaine for his help and to Tommy Crilly.
