Antrim hurling manager Dinny Cahill today looked back on a tough league opening win against Kerry – and predicted another competitive game this Sunday at home to Clare.
“We knew last week going down to Kerry that we would get nothing easy down there. It is a difficult journey to make, a trip into the unknown, and the conditions on Sunday made it even harder. The boys fought very hard, because they had to. The game was in the balance until halfway through the second half.”
Asked about the match coming up against Clare, Dinny recalled the match in Casement last year.
“We performed well against Clare in the league last year even though we lost in the end. Clare have started with a defeat and they will be coming to us looking to get their season on track. It is another very hard game. It is the kind of game which we look forward to and it will help bring our boys on.”
