Mark Dougan and Mark Scanlon look to gain possession at Casement Park
Antrim were well beaten by Kildare in their opening NFL Division Two game.

The visitors led 0-6 to 0-4 at half-time and extended their lead to six points before Andy McClean was sent-off for a second yellow card offence.

Kildare were then reduced to 14 men when Emmet Bolton received a straight red card but extended their winning margin to nine points.

Keith Cribbin scored the goal with the last kick of the game and Johnny Doyle top-scored with eight points.

The sides traded points early on, with Johnny Doyle and Eamonn Callaghan prominent for Kildare and Antrim largely relying on frees from Paddy Cunningham.

Robert Kelly was handed a good goalscoring opportunity early in the second half but Sean O'Neill proved equal to the task with a fine save.

Mark Dougan scored the Saffrons' first point from open play but Kieran McGeeney's side replied with five unanswered points.

Kildare continued to dominate and ran out comfortable winners.
