These are the photos (Link Below ) from the qualifiers for the North Antrim U12 Indoor Airborne Championships in Dunloy 's GAA centre.
On Sat 13th November 13 teams competed in the North Antrim u12 Indoor Airborne Championship, which was held for the first time in Cuchullians Dunloy's fantastic new facility.
From 10am to 4pm the young stars of the future hurled their hearts out. Due to the extended facility size available to us the rules have changed, in that we now play and 8 a side game, 1 goalkeeper and 7 outfield players , teams can as last year enter up to three teams each.
The idea is obviously to play in near perfect conditions making learning easier, to sharpen the skill level, speed up the game and teach players to make space through better movement. this brings better concentration into the children's game.
One very important aspect we are trying to improve on is catching which, in Ulster, is not on par with our Southern counterparts. To encourage this, the scoring system in the games are as follows, 1 point for a Goal, 1 point for a point, and 2 points for a catch, which on Sat was encouraged by mentors and players alike and was of a very high standard.
The North Board have been delighted in the response from the clubs and, in conjunction with Cuchullians, hope to extend their tournament activity to clubs outside the Division in early 2011.

Div 2 Final – 4.30pm
Cuchullians v St Marys
Div 1 Final – 5 pm
Ruairi 0g 1 v Shamrocks.
All Finals will be 10 mins EACH way.
We would ask that all teams are in the venue 30 mins before throw in, to help with the smooth running of the competition.
The North Antrim Board and the Dunloy club would like to invite as many parents/supporters to the finals as possible as there is quite substantial viewing from the ground and first floor.
