Almost 300 Antrim Gaels and supporters packed into Drumbo Greyhound stadium on Friday night for the Club Aontroma “Night at the Races.”
The fund raising initiative paid off in style and all guests enjoyed a great meal and a great nights fun, even if some ended up donating a little too much money to the bookmakers! One of the highlights of the evening was the Saffron Human Race when former county hurler Brian McFall outstripped the combined talents of James Loughrey, Kevin O’Boyle, Mairead Graham, Aisling Jackson and referee Gregory Walsh. Could Brian have benefitted from an offbeat handicap system? The race took place in good spirits and the Club Aontroma committee is very grateful to all who braved the wind and rain to take part.
Thanks to all of those who supported the event through buying tickets, taking tables, sponsoring dogs and races and buying ballots on the night. We hope to make this an annual event.
