Following a request from Croke Park and further to discussions with Antrim hurlers and Management, the qualifier game between Antrim and Dublin will be played this Saturday in Croke Park.

The time has to be confirmed.

This game will be a curtain raiser to the Armagh v Dublin football qualifier.

Commenting on the decision to agree to this request, Couny Chairman John McSparran said that "we received this request this morning and while there was no obligation to change, we agreed to it for a number of reasons."

"Alternative venues may not have been that suitable either.

There was a chance that we could have been asked to go to Portlaois as part of a double-header with Offaly and Tipperary.

Croke Park is much more accessible to Antrim supporters than most other grounds that might have been selected including Mullingar.

We accept that there is a big advantage in this for Dublin but we want to ask our supporters to get down to Croke in numbers for this game.

When the chips were down in the Carlow game, the support present that evening really spurred the team on.

We hope that even greater numbers will get to Croke and get behind our hurlers who have a chance of reaching the quarter-finals"
