Antrim senior footballers win Ulster - why not?

Back to back promotion with a full tank of talent. Who would have believed that possible or that Antrim had that much to give less than two years ago?

Almost all eyes were cast down and all real hope of change was all but gone. Despair reigned and bitterness with vitriolic criticism was rife throughout our county.

What has happened to change all that, if not the advent of inspired leadership, trust and a leap of faith, with a lot of honest work thrown in?

Every son or daughter of an Antrim Gael, those too young to have been poisoned with bitterness or prejudice, will want their replica Antrim Jersey for the summer and well they might.

The bar has been raised, we are out of the wilderness and real goals have been and are being achieved. St Galls have set down a marker; we now know where we want to get to in County football.

Our children and grand children now have their role models and their heroes. Life is good again especially for them. Is that not what support for Gaa is all about?
