Creggan P.S. Triumph at 10th Time of Asking!

Congratulations to the pupils of Creggan P.S. who won the Cumann Na mBunscol Indoor 5 a Side Gaelic Football Tournament recently. The competition, in its tenth year, has until now proved elusive for the school having fallen at the final hurdle several times in recent years. But not this year. The competition featured 16 teams from the South West Antrim Area and to win the title against opposition from previous winners such as St. Mary's PS, Portglenone, St. Joseph's PS, Crumlin and last years winners St. Brigid's PS, Ballymena was no easy matter.

With four section winners making it through to the semi-finals BallymcCricket P.S., Glenavy faced a local derby game against St. Joseph's PS, Crumlin with the Crumlin boys winning through on a scoreline of 5 goals to 2. The second semi-final saw St. Brigid's PS, Ballymena facing Creggan PS with the Randalstown boys winning through 5 goals to 3.

Having come through the group stages undefeated the Creggan boys' faced 2 time winners St. Joseph's PS, Crumlin in the final. In an end to end game which saw a total of 10 goals scored in six pulsating minutes Creggan powered through to win 6 goals to 4 and collect the trophy for the 1st time in their illustrious history. They now go forward to represent South West Antrim Cumann Na mBunscol in the All County
