A spirited second-half comeback by Antrim saw them close a nine point half-time deficit to just two but Down, who had been highly impressive in the opening half, regained their composure and ended with three unanswered points to run out five point winners in Wednesday evening’s McKenna Cup game at Pairc Esler, Newry
Antrim produced their best football in the third quarter and were boosted by a goal from substitute Neil O'Connell. Paddy Cunningham was top scorer for the Saffrons with eight points while Gerard O’Boyle, Michael Magill and Eoin O’Neill grabbed a point apiece.
