I am writing to request your help in relation to a member of our club. 31 year old Liam Murray is a lifelong member of St. Paul's GAC in West Belfast. 12 years ago, he was diagnosed with a brain tumour which has recently become more aggressive and is no longer responding to NHS treatment. In recent years Liam has participated in numerous fundraising events, including the Belfast Marathon, to raise money for Brain Tumour Research with a view of helping others suffering from the same condition.

As his friends and team mates, we are organising a Fundraising Golf Event to raise the funding required for new treatment for Liam. Details of the event are as follows:
Date: Friday 29th January 2010
Venue: Down Royal Golf Club
Tee Off: 9am

I would sincerely appreciate if your club, or members of the club could support this event in any way. For example:

• Individuals / teams may participate in the event at a cost of £40 per person (includes golf, dinner and entrance into an evening function in St. Paul's GAC);

• Individuals, families, clubs and businesses may 'Sponsor a Hole' at a cost of £100; and,

• Prizes will be balloted at the evening function in St. Paul's GAC.

Any assistance that your club can provide will be gratefully received and acknowledged by Liam's friends, the Liam Murray Trust and St. Paul's GAC.For further information please do not hesitate to contact me as follows:
