A chairde,

9 a side - Recreational GAA - Hurling - Friday 20th November - 7:15 PM - VENUE: Kickhams Creggan GAC

Recreational GAA is a great opportunity for older club members to have a bit of fun and keep themselves fit and healthy. This is aimed at club members who are no longer actively playing competitively for their club teams.

If your club is interested in entering a team(s) I would appreciate if you could get back to me by Wednesday 18th November. Please note this will be a first come first served basis and there is also a few Derry teams interested.

NOTE THE FOLLOWING RULES:

1. ALL PLAYERS MUST WEAR A HELMET
2. Only incidental contact is permitted
3. It is recommended that periods of play should not exceed 10 minutes in length with a rest segment of at least 3 minutes between each playing period.
4. The player fouled should take his/her own free (except where they are unable to continue. In this case any payer from their own team can take the free.
5. Soloing is not permitted
6. The game should be started with a puck out (this to alternate between the teams after each period of play)
7. All frees may be taken from the hand or from the ground as desired
8. Players cannot score from inside their own half (*Note: This rule is necessary in the instance where games may only be 5 or 6 a-side)
9. It is not permitted to tackle a player with the hurl while he/she is attempting to rise the ball.
10. The shoulder charge is not permitted
11. Substitutions will be unlimited
Also, as we are playing on 3G pitch all metal on hurls must be taped up..!
Insurance Notification
You may be covered by the venue's public liability insurance, otherwise we have to inform you, that you play at your OWN RISK. The incidental contact only rule is applied to lower the risk of injury.
