Antrim Under 21 hurlers had a facile victory over Armagh in the Ulster Under 21 semi-final tonight on a score-line of Antrim 5-26 Armagh 1-11.
Two goals in the opening minute from Darren Hamill and Michael Armstrong gave Antrim a grip on the game they would never relinquish, though Armagh did then have their best spell of the match sharing the next ten points equally to leave the score 2-6 to 0-5.
However Antrim, though far from impressive, regained full control and Eddie McCloskey fired in goal number three to help the Saffrons to a 3-9 to 0-6 half-time lead.
After the break Antrim started to pick off the scores with more fluency and substitute Anton McCaffrey and top scorer CJ McGourty added a goal apiece while Darren Hamill, Eddie McCloskey, Michael Armstrong and Paddy Doherty added points on a regular basis to secure a final meeting with Derry next Wednesday evening.
